I have just been enjoying a visit from Bonnie, a college friend whom I met in Freshman year over 50 years ago. Bonnie came from Minnesota, and I had come from Boston. After graduation from college we went our separate ways but have met up again often in the intervening years. Bonnie now lives in New York City. Bonnie’s first visit to us here in Dublin was almost 40 years ago shortly before James was born. It gave a nice feeling of continuity to keep our friendship up to date with this most recent visit.
We did lots of talking and knitting.
And we had a number of interesting outings, including a visit to a rural farm in County Wicklow.
Patting the donkey at Greenan Farm, County Wicklow
And lunch at another more urban farm, Airfield, right nearby.
The gardens at Airfield were at their peak – wonderful! The meadow looked like a Monet painting.
Much more to tell but will save that for another post.
